ISO 45001

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has confirmed a provisional publication date of 27 November for the Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) of ISO 45001.

Finally a world’s first where occupational health and safety standards are being represented from an international perspective! This standard will help organisations to provide a safe and healthy workplace for your workers and other people, prevent deaths, work-related injury and ill-health as well as continually improve OH&S performance. It also assists companies to seamlessly integrate ISO9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems together with ISO 45001.

Publication of ISO 45001 is likely to be in early 2018.

OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801 are likely to be withdrawn on publication of ISO 45001 and organisations currently certified to OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801 will have a grace period to migrate to ISO 45001.

It is important to note that the process for ISO 45001 differs from other standards as this is the first international OHS standard. Therefore, it is not a transition from OHSAS 18001 or AS/NZ 4801. We understand that the word transition will continue to be used as organisations move from one standard to another. MiSAFE offers customised integrated management systems solutions. This includes migration from OHSAS 18001, or AS/NZS 4801 to ISO 45001. We also offer complete new Management Systems solutions tailored for our clients needs.
