The Safety Institute of Australia Ltd is Australia’s peak body for the health & safety profession. Established more than 60 years ago, we have a membership of over 4,000 individuals who may simply be interested in health and safety in the workplace, or be actively working in the field of OHS as Health and Safety Representatives, or OHS practitioners or professionals. We also have more than 50 Corporate members..

The Safety Institute’s vision is to harness the capabilities of the vast body of people working within the field, to work toward the elimination of workplace injury, illness and death.

These challenges are approached in a number of ways, focusing on:

Building the capability of the OHS profession, accrediting higher education, maintaining and promoting the OHS body of knowledge that defines professional practice in OHS, certifying the profession, and providing a range of opportunities for our members for professional development ;
Building partnership and relationships with organisations that share our vision;
Proving a range of products and services to our members, to assist them in their work including magazines, newsletters, our journal, access to a research database, access to a host of local networking activities, workshops, seminars and other events, and asccess to products and services at beneficial rates; and
Undertaking a range of activities in the field of policy and research.

All consultants at MiSAFE Solutions are certified by The Safety Institute of Australia to provide confidence in our services to all of our stakeholders.

Exemplar Global Inc. provides personnel certification, credential management for individuals seeking further professional recognition and independent certification for training providers to enhance their course quality and outcomes.

All MiSAFE consultants are certified auditors with Exemplar global to provide confidence in our services to our clients and to ensure that all pre-certification audits are conducted in accordance with strict guidelines set by RABQSA.

BSI (British Standards Institution) is the business standards company that equips businesses with the necessary solutions to turn standards of best practice into habits of excellence. Although MiSAFE can conduct audits in accordance with standards such as AS4801 and ISO9001, we are not yet approved to certify companies against the specified standards. We aim to achieve this service in the near future, however in the meantime we recommend using companies such as BSI to provide full certification audits.
